Deeply rooted in the culture, Maldivians love to dance to the beat of Boduberu ( traditional Maldivian drums are made out of woods from a coconut tree trunk. Traditionally, the drum heads were made of rays and manta ray skin. Now, it is made of goatskin. The skin is tightened to produce a good beat and to enhance the quality of the sound).

In ancient times, Boduberu was usually sung after a hard day's work. Nowadays, it is the most exciting and popular entertainment performed on stage shows, celebrations and festivals all around the Maldives.
